Since SAM-FS requires a number of system resources that are not available early in the boot process, it is not possible to have a SAM-FS file system mounted by placing a "yes" in the "mount at boot" field in the /etc/vfstab (see vfstab(4)).

The SAM-FS installation process creates a script, (/etc/rc3.d/S05samfs), that will mount all SAM-FS file systems that have "delay" in the "mount at boot" field. This script is executed by the system when moving into multiuser mode (run level 3) and executes early enough that entries in the /etc/dfs/dfstab (see dfstab(4)) will cause the SAM-FS file system to be shared.
